Please note, PhotoSpring does not store your photos in the cloud. We do this to protect the long term privacy of your photos and to avoid having to charge a subscription fee to store photos. So in order to copy photos from one frame to another we go through a Google Photos account.
Here's how to get photos off an old frame and migrate them to a new frame
- Backup the old frame to a Google account
- Sync the new frame to the same Google Photos account. It will pull photos from Google into your new frame.
- Optional step:
- Step 2 above makes the new frame a cloud frame. With a cloud frame, all the photos that were sync'd from Google, will be controlled from Google. Also, any photos you add to your old frame will be backed up to Google and then downloaded to the new frame.
- If you don't want a cloud frame, then you can simply disconnect from Google. When you disconnect from Google you will be asked if you want to leave the photos on the frame or remove them. Make sure to keep them on the frame.
