PhotoSpring gives you four different ways to format your photos:
- Fill - the photo fills the entire screen. PhotoSpring will try to do this in a smart way by zooming in on faces in the photo.
- Fit - the entire photo will be shown on screen. This often results in photos with black bands top/bottom or on the sides
- Auto - PhotoSpring will try to fill as much of the screen as possible but will stop in the following cases
- if a face will be cut off
- if too much of the photo will be lost
- Custom - you can custom format the photo to your liking. Click here for more information.
The following describes how to set Fill, Fit and Auto formatting. For custom formatting click on the link above.
Getting to the Format Settings Screen
To click on the Format Settings screen:
- Tap on the Menu button in the upper left corner of the screen
- Tap on Settings in the Menu
- Tap on the Slideshow tab
- Tap the Photo Formatting item as shown below
Setting the Format Type
In the Photo Formatting screen tap the radio button for the format type you want. To give you context, the photos of Mona Lisa will change to show you an example of how each format type will be shown in the context of the orientation of the frame.
