Note: The PhotoSpring for Mac application is being phased out. As of Sept 2020 it still works on Windows 10. However any issues with the app will not be supported or fixed. We feel like the improvements we have made to the Web browser upload times makes it a viable alternative to send thousands of photos to the frame.
The PhotoSpring Windows app stays on and waits for new photos to appear in the folder its set up to watch. When it sees a new photo it will upload it automatically to the frame for you.
Since the PhotoSpring app needs to stay on, we had to code it as a Windows Service app. You can access the app through the system tray - which is typically located at the bottom right of your screen.
You can see it by clicking on the up arrow. A menu of all service apps will appear:
Find the PhotoSpring icon. You can:
- Right click the PhotoSpring icon to access its menu and see its status
- Left click the PhotoSpring icon to open the app to modify your settings
