General Settings
Setting Time
Set the frame to your local time. Most likely the frame will be able to get the local time for you within a few seconds. If not, switch the time from Automatic to manual setup and tap the time and date to change them. Click here to find more information on setting Time and Date.
Name the frame
We recommend naming the frame something that describes where it is. Don't worry, you can change this later.
Identify the owner
When people send photos to the frame, this will help them identify who they are sending photos to. If you are giving this frame as a gift, then use the future owner's name here.
Set Auto Play Video
Summary: This feature let's you automatically play videos within a slideshow as opposed to having to tap on the video to play it. By default, Auto Play Video is disabled. This prevents videos with noise to be played - which can be very annoying. Click here to learn the details behind playing video on the frame.
Set Auto Photo Formatting
Summary: Todays cameras come in a variety of aspect ratios. Displaying all these different aspect ratios may not look great on a photo frame. PhotoSpring tries to optimize the way a photo is displayed on screen by analyzing the photo and applying proprietary algorithms. Click here to get a basic understand of the Auto Photo Formatting feature.
Sleep Schedule Settings
When the Sleep Schedule toggle switch if flipped to ON it reveals the sleep schedule settings.
Simply tap on a time you want to change. You can specify when the device turns on or off on weekends and weekdays.

Get Setup to Send Photos and Videos
Enable Frame Email
Background: The quickest way to get photos on the frame is to assign the frame a custom email address. You can then send photos to the frame by sending photos to this email address. This is the quickest way to get photos onto the frame, but not the best way if your plan is to eventually send hundreds of photos to the frame.
Our recommendation is to configure the frame email first and send a few photos to get started quickly. You can use other forms of sending photos to the frame like creating a PhotoSpring account or syncing with Google Photos later. Click on this link for more information on all the ways you can send photos to the frame.
Setting up the frame email address: To configure a custom email for the frame, toggle the switch you see to on. Note: if you don't want to configure a frame email, tap the Skip button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Once you enable frame email, tap on the link that appears: Click here to create an email address. You'll see a popup where you can enter the email address you want to use.
Click on the Next button to continue. The next screen asks you to test the email address by sending some photos to it. If you send photos to the frame, then this screen will automatically disappear and your frame will start to display photos. If you want to create an account to use the PhotoSpring app or web portal then tap on the Skip button.
Note, the next section is relevant only if you pressed the skip button on any of the setup screens for frame email.
Setup a PhotoSpring account to send photos to the frame
Send an email to yourself to open an account
Type your email in the text box to send yourself a link to open an account. Click Submit.
The Frame will wait for you to create an account and connect to it
Check your email for the invitation to create an account and connect to the frame. If the email doesn't arrive check your spam folders. Or check that you used the correct email address with no typos. If none of this works email us at support@photospring.com
Optional Next Step: Create an Account
Note: in the normal Setup Wizard this step is skipped if you assign your frame an email. You can setup an account and link it to the frame by going to:
Menu-->Invite Friends and Manage Connections
Click here to go over how to create an account. This will be done through a web page. You can then come back to your frame and finish the frame setup.
If you are successful at creating an account you may be asked to enter a 6 character frame code. It should appear on a screen like you see below. If you are successful at creating an account and connecting it to the frame then this screen will disappear on its own.
A popup may appear on the frame asking you to grant yourself permission permission.
- Check the box - you are the owner. Ownership has privileges.
- Allow yourself to send photos to this frame
